THE AUTHOR
Tamotu
Salave'a.
I was born and raised in American Samoa, where I have spent my entire life surrounded by the stories, traditions, and culture of the islands. From an early age, I grew up listening to the myths and legends passed down through generations—stories that sparked my imagination and eventually became one of the greatest influences on my writing.
I was an avid reader throughout my school years, and even then, I dreamed of one day creating stories of my own. I began writing as early as the third grade, and over the years, I have continued to develop and hone my craft. Even now, I consider myself a student of storytelling, constantly learning new techniques, exploring new approaches, and finding better ways to bring the stories in my imagination to life.

Author's mission
Where the Stories Begin
Much of my writing is inspired by where I come from. The culture, traditions, mythology, history, people, and landscapes of Samoa have all played an important role in shaping the stories I want to tell. I want to create stories that entertain readers while also giving them a glimpse into the richness of Samoan culture and the traditions that have been passed down through generations.
My Mission
My greatest goal as a writer is to share my people's stories with the world. I want readers everywhere to experience the myths, legends, ideas, and perspectives that have shaped me and so many others who call these islands home.
And ultimately, I hope to do something even bigger: to help bring Samoa to the forefront of storytelling worldwide.
The Journey
I believe our stories deserve to be heard, our culture deserves to be celebrated, and our voices deserve a place on the world stage. This website—and every story I write—is part of that journey.
